If People Are Upset By The Truth, Keep Speaking

If people are upset by the truth, then this is a sure sign you’re on the right path. Liars don’t attack other liars, they only attack those who tell the truth. Why? Because the light is too bright and they want to hide their deeds in the darkness. These people don’t deserve silence and in Ephesians 5:11 God tells us to not participate in their lies but yet expose them.

For as long as I can remember, I’ve always been a person who will stand up for others who were mistreated and of course, I stand up for myself as well. So, it’s not surprising to me that my personality is not welcomed by most people, because the larger population prefers to tell lies and to be lied to. They like to twist the story to make themselves look better, but eventually they’ll have to face the truth. They’ll have to look in the mirror and when they’re all alone they have no choice but to be honest with themselves. Truth is powerful and it never dies no matter how many lies people try to tell to cover it up. The truth is absolute. If you’re a truth teller, please be prepared for serious backlash in a world filled with social media filters (people can’t even be honest with their own faces) and still shots of what appears to be happiness. It’s all a lie and it’s fake. You don’t want to be like these people, trust me.

Jesus was a truth teller and he was disliked by large groups of people and many of those people didn’t know him, and never attempted to have a sensible conversation with him. They loved to surround themselves with people who lied to them and they loved lying to the people around them. These groups of people told so many lies to the point where the truth was so far removed, they began accusing Jesus for their wrongs. They wanted Jesus to die and pay for their lies, and although Jesus eventually laid His life down for them, He warned them about their behavior in John 8:44 “ You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.” Jesus knew they were wicked, but His death created a way out for them. Of course, many of them refused it, but it was available for them if they ever decided to allow the truth to set them free.

If people don’t like you because you tell the truth, then I encourage you to keep speaking. Don’t ever let others silence your voice. Jesus never kept quiet and He didn’t do things the way people wanted Him to. He didn’t bow down to broken systems and He didn’t tell people what they wanted to hear, He told them the whole truth. Truth tellers are God’s children and the truth is highly offensive to those who stand in a position of defeat. When people are upset about me telling the truth, this is always a reminder that I’m on the right path. Their idiotic behavior and continuous lies let me know the truth is at work and eventually they’ll accept it or they’ll accept defeat. Either way, I am always a winner.
